About Lang & Schwarz TradeCenter AG & Co. KG

An independent voice on how capital markets work

Lang & Schwarz TradeCenter AG & Co. KG was founded to make brokerage, securities trading and capital markets easier to understand. We publish informational content only — we do not open accounts, hold client assets or charge for any service.

Our story

Started as a research notebook, grown into a public resource

Lang & Schwarz TradeCenter AG & Co. KG began in Düsseldorf as an internal research notebook used by a small group of market analysts to keep track of how trading rules, clearing mechanisms and disclosure standards evolved across European and global exchanges.

Over time, colleagues and students asked to read those notes. We turned them into a public, freely accessible library, organised by topic rather than by product, so readers can look up a concept without being steered toward any commercial offer.

What guides us

Principles behind every article we publish

Neutral by design

We do not sell brokerage accounts, funds or advisory services, so nothing we publish is written to steer you toward a product.

Source-checked

Explanations are cross-referenced against exchange rulebooks, regulatory guidance and academic literature before publication.

Kept current

Market structure changes over time. We review and update existing articles as rules and practices evolve.

How we work

A small editorial team, a clear scope

Our editors focus narrowly on explaining market structure and terminology — order books, settlement cycles, custody arrangements, brokerage licensing categories and investor protection schemes.

  • No personalised recommendations for any security or brokerage.
  • No client accounts, deposits or order execution of any kind.
  • Editorial content reviewed on a rolling basis by our research desk.
